About me and my approach

I am a BACP and UKCP-registered psychotherapist. I run a private practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

I take an integrative approach in my practice. This means that I am able to draw upon a range of theories depending on what I feel would benefit each individual client. This flexible way of working acknowledges that we’re all different. The main theories I integrate in my practice are: psychoanalytic theories, specifically Object Relations, Intersubjectivity theory, Relational theory and Attachment Theory, as well as Transactional Analysis and Interpersonal Neurobiology. In my couples therapy practice, I also integrate concepts, skills and tools from Relational Life Therapy and Imago therapy.

Crucially, my approach is relational: along with the issues you bring to explore in therapy, I’m interested in, and pay attention to, the relationship between us and the way you relate to yourself. This provides valuable insight, often making us aware of unconscious patterns of thinking and behaviour so they can be understood and challenged.

Together, we can create a comfortable and safe space in which we can untangle and make sense of the difficulties and challenges life throws at you.

As a full clinical member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I am listed on their register, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I abide by the UKCP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I regularly see a confidential clinical supervisor to support my work and have full professional insurance.

I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
